Conspiracy against Mobile Brands of India

Remember the time when Indian brand were ruling the android smartphone market? That’s ancient history now. I remember being so joyful and feeling out of the world when Micromax became No.1 brand of India in October 2014. But that escalated rather quickly after Xiaomi entered the smartphone market. I also believe that were was some conspiracy done by Chinese companies to make Indian brands phones have poor perfomance and stability issues as that is what i experience on my Micromax Bharat 5 Pro android phone which i bought from flipkart. It was probably the cheapest 3GB RAM phone at that time and with humongous battery of 5000mah, i had really high expectations from it but i was bitterly disappointed later on after i found out so many critical issues.
First of all performance was really pathetic, even a basic game like Subway Surfers was running real slow.

After inserting my 32GB SD Card, every application would suddenly crash and the phone was sometimes suggesting to format so i thought there must be something wrong with it but the phone couldn’t even process that, the technician from flipkart came and he also found in his test that his memory was also having same trouble as mine in the phone, so we finally reached a conclusion that something was seriously wrong with the phone and decided to get a replacement, even with sealed pack i barely sold it for half the price which was a real bummer but i was happy that I at least got rid of it for something.

Nowadays, you will hardly see any major Indian tech Youtuber reviewing smartphones or tablet from an Indian brand. The reason is obvious, they are being paid by Chinese / American brands so Indian Brands don’t get much marketing and hence really poor sales and this is what has mainly caused their downfall. I am still amazed by the value a phone from Karbonn provides which launched earlier this year in may and I am looking to buy soon but due to financial condition i am obliged although it’s very affordable especially considering it’s specs. It’s named  “Platinum P9 Pro” and it’s probably one of the most high-end phone Karbonn made and only disappointing thing about is that screen is not HD otherwise a very solid phone for the price, as i mentioned earlier.

ICC is biased and they have a hidden agenda against India

the logo of this corrupt organization

I am so frustrated about constant bias of umpires against India in almost every match they play. It's almost like 8 out of 10 wrong decision go against us due to unreasonable umpiring even against lowered ranked or minnow teams. DRS is not being utilized properly because reviews are very limited and umpire's call rule needs to be eradicated completely because it gives unfair advantage to certain teams. ICC seems to be doing some funky stuff behind the scenes to provide full support to their favorite teams.

The major reason behind my anger and reason i am writing this post is the ridiculous umpiring in the first T20I between India and Bangladesh played three days back where umpires crossed all the limits. Firstly, both umpires were Indians so hard to imagine they would cheat or get bribed against their own nation but as Umpire's Elite Panel is controlled by ICC it's not impossible that there could be corruption somewhere in.

Rohit Sharma was given out LBW when the ball was barely touching the top of the stumps as hawkeye showed the ball tracking after he took the review. Had umpire given it not out it would have stayed like that in that case too so this proves unfair advantage teams get with DRS and that's why i always feel it needs to be implemented properly.

Mushfiqur Rahim was the hero for Bangladesh in the match and he was denied two plumb LBWs in two consecutive deliveries at the start of his innings. How more ridiculous can it be? India refused to take review because there's only one of them and being scared to lose they decided against it. If umpires would have been fair enough in this case, India would have won easily by at least 25-35 runs because they would have lost momentum rather early and that burst at the end of innings by hitting four consecutive fours of Khaleel Ahmed wouldn't have happened.

India's great unbeaten record of not losing even a single match vs Bangladesh in T20Is got totally ruined just because of stupid umpires. Although, I still fancy us bouncing back and winning the series 2-1 but this agenda of ICC and umpires against India needs stop and i am witnessing it ever since i started watching cricket since World Cup 2003 final and it's most likely been happening ever since India started playing cricket.

They are so corrupt, they never penalize Australian Cricket team for sledging, cheating, false appeals, slow overrates but here they come giving demerit points to Virat Kohli every now and then just because of passion and aggression as he becomes little animated on the field.

Sydney Test 2008, India lost this match due to probably the most ridiculous biased umpiring in the history of any game. Two of them even included 3rd umpire. India was blatantly cheated by Aussies and there's no doubt umpires were bribed in that game. 13 decisions went against India while only 2 wrong decisions went against Australia. ICC took no action against this act where i believe this team of convicts should have banned at least an year and match should have been declared a draw but no such thing happened and Australia used ICC in unfair means as usual.

Sydney Test 2010, in this game against Pakistan, i won't say it was Australia's fault but Pakistan deliberately lost the match and got paid $1.2m from a bookie of their own country. After Australia were 8 wicket down. Nobody expected this would have happened, Kamran Akmal dropped two catches and even missed an easy runout chance then was found smiling which lead to a 150+ runs partnership between Siddle and Hussey but still target was not out of reach for Pakistan. They needed 170 odd runs to win the test and at one stage they even looked like winning it but all batsman eventually got out playing rash shots which also hinted towards match fixing. ICC doesn't took any action right away, it was like after half year when spot fixing claims got alot attention from media the ICC said to be investigating the allegations and later on gave it a clean chit without looking into the matter properly.

In World Cup 2019, Aleem Dar was literally cheating India vs Afg in league stage match. He gave two wrong LBWs but luckily both got overturned successfully due to DRS but there was also a umpire call which went against India.

During Afghanistan batting also he was reluctant to give LBWs and one of the batsman survived a close shout, there was another decision i don’t remember exactly where batsman was clearly out but he didn’t give (caught behind i reckon) and he also gave two wrong wides consecutively when ball went over the body of the batsman.

In England match he also didn’t give out Jason Roy when England were slow at start and that partnership blew India out of the game after that. He was caught behind as he gloved down the leg side to wicket-keeper but stupid Dhoni refused to review.

In 2007 series 3rd ODI match vs SA, he gave AB De Villiers not out when he was caught a 1st slip with a very thick edge and that’s probably his one of the most controversial decision ever, it’s spiteful if you have ever seen that viral video of that incident on YouTube. Had it hit the pad it won’t have gone so fast to slips and also doubtful if it would have carried as they are really soft compared to bat.

IMHO, there should 2 reviews in T20s, 3 in ODIs, 4 in Tests. Such is the nature of game, umpiring standards are rather poor and they are meant to make mistake. Technology needs to be utilized properly. If you're spending millions on something and it's still not getting the job done then something is wrong your intentions. 1 reviews per inning is not enough for T20Is, let alone even longer game such as ODI. I always consider umpire's call being misuse of technology by ICC to favor certain teams, when you get out bowled. It doesn't matter how much part of the ball hit the stumps so same should be done with DRS in LBWs as well. It's like you're expecting 99% decisions of umpires to be right while in reality more than half of them are wrong. Another proof of umpires being against India is Kohli has got 11 umpire's call decisions against him in last 3 years against which he reviewed. It's a good addition that you don't lose review on umpire's call anymore but still i don't think it's ethical as it gives edge to certain team.

My brother's used Gaming PC under 12k INR Budget

So recently, my brother got an awesome deal on a PC in used market. He got i3 6100 CPU, MSI H110 motherboard, 8GB RAM, 1TB HDD, PSU and Cabinet all under ₹6,500. Later down the line he also bought used Zotac 1050 Ti Mini 4GB for a mere ₹5,500 with more than 3 years warranty left which bring total to ₹12,000 excluding the brand new LG 22" IPS monitor he bought off amazon to pair with it.

The story starts when my brother bought a Micromax (well known local brand here) monitor back in Aug 2018 on a deal for ₹4,000 at a sale on amazon but that monitor is absolutely pathetic as it seem to have too much blue light and extremely poor color calibration out of the box. As it was also only 18.5" he had to buy another one anyway and so he did after few months.

He got LG 22MP68VQ, a 22" IPS display with DVI, VGA and HDMI port. It has also 3.5mm audio jack for HDMI audio pass-through. Looks really nice, has thin bezels and picture quality is quite good and it also looks very crispy. He got this monitor for ₹8,000 while sale Diwali sale (The Great Indian Festival) on Amazon where it normally costs around 9-10k.

He used our uncle's PC for few months before he could finally get his own rig which had gaming capable performance potential. The PC was bought after at least 2-3 weeks since he got monitor and wait actually seemed to be worth it.

I still can't believe someone can get this hell of a deal, i was surprised how much my brother was able to fetch so much for so little. I mean i3 6100 used refurbished itself cost more than what he got whole system for.

He went to buyer's home and deal was already decided for ₹8,000 but due to some issues dvi port not working on his motherboard (which he checked using dvi to vga converter adapter as he had an old basic monitor with only VGA port), my brother asked for discount of ₹2,000 and but the guy agreed on reducing the amount by ₹1,500 and my brother was okay with that which finalized this amazing deal.

In the end, even DVI port seem to be working (when he came back home and checked) so it was probably an issue with converter adapter, even though it still would have been steal at ₹8,000. But he was lucky to get some discount by accident which is never a bad thing.

Overall, build turned out to be satisfactory in terms of real world and raw performance. My brother gets 40-45fps at 1080p high in Shadow of the Tomb Raider which is quite remarkable for such a demanding game. The build was really value for money but i was little disappointed that monitor was bit on the expensive side but still okay considering GST on them and including printers is 28% right now (18% for all other computer components).

How We Can Have Significantly more optimized Games for PC

System requirements are getting more and more ridiculous day by day, i was shocked when i had to run Far Cry 5 and Assassin's Creed Odyssey at 1080p low for smooth framerates with my 750 ti. They need to optimize games alot better and use compressed texture for visuals rather than raw files.

Same can be done with Audio / Cutscenes so that overall size is smaller and it would then effectively help in reducing system requirements. It's no rocket science or anything extravagant, just common sense.

When i really want small file size images in GIMP, i just set picture quality to 70% and still don't notice any difference so game developers can atleast compress it to 90% quality without loosing any noticeable visual quality.

Developers these days only seem to focus on console side of things resulting in poor optimization for pc games. They should start giving some more priority to pc version of games now as it's the biggest gaming platform and growing faster than ever.

Windows is another reason behind poor performance of games on PC. Ever since Vista, Microsoft has added too much bloatware and unnecessary features present in windows such as Cortana, Windows Store, File History etc.

Windows 10 is over the top resource as it consumes 1.5GB RAM at idle and doesn't even like 7200rpm HDDs so an SSD is recommended for it which not everyone can afford (especially for higher storage sized ones such as 500gb or even 1tb) and it's not everyone's priority.

Microsoft have ruined it even further since Anniversary and Creator's update by adding even more bloat, and worst thing about it is, you can't disable automatic updates so need to wait for those sluggish and slow time consuming updates installation before you can enjoy your favorite games.

Additional Note (not included in video) :

Shoddy and messed up coding is another reason why games are so heavy these days, if developers take time and effort for a clean and decently implemented code the games could be better optimized this way as well. Extra unnecessary coding / programming also result in higher size which also affects system requirements in a negative way. Microsoft is also culprit of doing such things their OS and it has got much worse in modern version of Windows.

How Gaming on PCs is better than Consoles (XBOX Series S/X, PS5, Nintendo Switch etc.)

There has been alot of debate about various gaming platforms. For me personally, PC Gaming stands out in all of them. Today I'm going to share my opinion with which most people with even a hint of common sense would agree or appreciate. So here's my top 4 reason why PC Gaming is better than any of the current gen consoles such Xbox One X/S, PS4 Slim / Pro, Nintendo Switch or you could even say Soulja Boy Console 😜

1. Cheaper in Long Run

Silly console gamers claims that their console is much cheaper than PCs while in long run it's much more expensive due to ridiculously overpriced games while for PCs there are always sales on games like every other month on PC and generally PCs games price drop significantly as they get older while console games for most part maintain their high price over the years. Even launch price of games is cheaper for PC.

2. Free Online

I was a huge fan of Sony in past as they had free online for PS3, since that disappeared with the inauguration of PS4, we were left high and dry. Nothing could be more disappointing as they became rather greedy which this decision reflects.

3. Upgradeable Hardware

As the games are getting more and more demanding there's a decent need of upgrading regularly if you want stable 60fps in high / ultra settings. Though you can get away with no upgrade down the line for few years if you are ready to compromise your experience set visual quality preset to low or medium which might still give you around stable 40-45fps. My story with 750 ti now something similar. I have to turn down recent AAA games such as Far Cry 5 or AC Odyssey to 1080p low to get smooth framerates.

4. 4K 60FPS Glory

No console currently in the market could provide you this amazing experience. PS4 Pro does 4k but with checkerboard (literally upscaling) that too won't give you more than 30fps without being in Native 4k. While Xbox One X does have true 4k, it doesn't have any major game it can play at full 60fps glory at that resolution.
